Upon request, the School Committee will create an ad hoc committee to make recommendations about how to honor the memory of individuals who have made outstanding contributions to improve teaching and learning. There shall be a one year moratorium before any request will be considered by the School Committee. The School Committee encourages the development of special events, activities, or scholarships which are consistent with the mission and core values of the Yarmouth schools to honor individuals and discourages the renaming of facilities. If the ad hoc committee does recommend naming a school facility or part of a facility, the recommendation will be according to policy FF – Naming of School Facilities.
