In Yarmouth's first ever experience in Speech at the qualifying tournament for the Maine district of the National Speech and Debate Association, Hope Cady placed #2 in the District for Humorous Interpretation. She will be going to Nationals in June.
At the qualifying tournament for the Maine district of the National Speech and Debate Association, Joshua Leinwand continued his Lincoln Douglas success by becoming an alternate for the national tournament, meaning he is now the second alternate in two separate categories!

4/4 National Speech and Debate Association's Maine District Qualifiers,
Maddy Corson, Joshua Leinwand, and Hope Cady placed third, fourth, and sixth respectively in the final House bracket. This makes Maddy the 1st alternate from the House, Joshua the 2nd, and Hope the 4th.
3/4 National Speech and Debate Association's Maine District Qualifiers,
Emerson Pardales placed third in Senate, making him the district's first alternate at that level.
2/4 National Speech and Debate Association's Maine District Qualifiers. Tyler Lucca is the district champion for the House. His first place finish has earned him an invitation to the 91st annual NSDA Tournament,
1/4 YHS won Gold at the National Speech and Debate Association's Maine District Qualifiers. Kate Siegel is officially the top congressional debater in the district for the 2020/2021 season, placing first in the Senate and earning an invitation to the 91st annual NSDA Tournament.
